Rambo and leroy working with New Order Members on new group
We've been dead busy at the mo working and playing very hard! Our first single 'Last One Standing' will be released in the next few weeks on Vinyl Revival Records. We're really excited and feeling positive about it all. Itunes ep release is going really well also so thanks to all of you who have downloaded it. Feel like it's all beginning to happen for us finally. XFM ( in particularClint Boon) has really got behind us on this aswell as Revolution radio so a big thanks to them for all their help so far. Also Colin White for putting his money where his mouth is and releasing it for us! Review of the single will be in The Guardian soon aswell!
Me and Matt have also been working with some of our heroes for the last year on another project called 'Bad Lieutenant'. Band members so far are myself ( Jake Evans), Matt Evans, Bernard Sumner, Phil Cunningham and Steve Morris of New Order, Alex James of Blur and Jack Mitchell from Haven.
Really exciting music!! Finishing some mixes at the mo. What an experience this has been to work and write with these people.
Back to Rambo and Leroy though,-after our next few gigs we will be returning to the studio to concentrate on writing and recording some new songs we've had on the boil for a while.
We'll keep you posted on it all. Much love and many thanks to you all for your support.

Schön aber, dass es in Sachen BL konkreter wird. Interessant auch, dass NO minus Hooky dabei sind. Da scheint sich ja einer ziemlich ins Abseits bugsiert zu haben...

I have been looking after a band called Rambo and Leroy of which 2 are working on the Bad Lieutenant project with Bernard Sumner and Steve Morris. I am releasing their first single in Feb 2008 called Last one standing.
The second single is going to include Bernard on vocals and
if you want to take a look at Rambo and Leroy you can catch them playing live on you tube from their channel m appearance.
I had a listen to a couple of the Bad Lieutenant tracks and its sounding good with a few major labels already sniffing around.

klingt ganz gut.Barney hat nix verlernt.Obwohl ich mir vorstellen könnte das es nur ein Freizeitprojekt werden solle.Eine Ep,n Single ,Compilation und Soundtrackbeiträge.

Werner Herzog (Stroszek 1976/1977 (der Film den Ian Curtis sah bevor er Selbstmord beging)) dreht einen Film namens "Bad Lieutenant" (auch der Name der neuen Band von Bernard Sumner). In der Hauptrolle ist Nicolas Cage... Es soll sich nicht um ein Remake des gleichnamigen Filmes von 1992 handeln...

Bad Lieutenant, a new group put together in 2007 by New Order’s Bernard Sumner (guitar and vocals) alongside Phil Cunningham (guitar) and Jake Evans (guitar and vocals) are pleased to confirm they have completed their long awaited debut LP, which is set for release in autumn this year.
Together, the band have spent over a year writing, recording and mixing the album near Manchester, drafting in additional musicians including Stephen Morris and Alex James. Song titles and live dates will be announced in due course. A new single is expected to be released prior to the LP.

Nur nach diesen ganzen Geplänkel wird die nächste Reunion peinlich. Auf das BL Album bin ich aber dennoch gespannt, nur denke ich, es wird ein stinknormales Album werden ohne wirklich herausragende Songs.

Man sieht ja schon, dass der Mann ein paar Jahre älter geworden ist, aber er ist immer noch er selbst - inkl. der unverwechselbaren Frisur;)...

Bad Lieutenant formed in 2007 with New Order’s Bernard Sumner (guitar and vocals) alongside Phil Cunningham (guitar) and Jake Evans (guitar and vocals). We can now confirm that they have completed their long awaited debut LP “Never Cry Another Tear” which is set for worldwide release on 5th October 2009 on Triple Echo Records. The album features sounds that have helped make New Order such a treasured, innovative force over the past three decades, but also featured is a brand new voice from exotic Macclesfield, Jake Evans.
The new album centre’s around crisp, streamlined, 21st century guitar music – underscored by keyboards and occasional melodica. The record includes Sumner’s seemingly effortless melodic invention, but now these familiar joys blend with vocals and the talented guitar work of Jake Evans.
“This album is very important to me,” says Bernard. “We’ve worked hard on it and I’m proud of it. It’s also important because it gives people the chance to hear a gifted new singer and guitar player who I think’s really talented.”
Together, the band have spent over a year writing, recording and mixing the album near Manchester, which features additional musicians including Alex James (Blur) and Stephen Morris (New Order and Joy Division) on several recordings. Song titles and live dates will be announced in due course. The live band will include Stephen Morris on drums and Tom Chapman on bass.
A debut single, “Sink or Swim” is expected to be released prior to the LP, on Monday 21st September 2009.
“There is some continuity to the music I’ve made in the past,” says Bernard. “But this is very different – because different people are playing on it. This is just how I now want to make music – it feels right to me and I hope at least a few other people feel the same.”
